Greetings from Howard Colorado…Let it snow Let it snow Let it snow some mo'.

I'll be switching it up for Paddy's day this year, putting down the Mando and and picking' up the B-Bender Tele and Stand Steel with Alan & Martin Band (formerly Alan Pursell and the Pale Riders). We play the good country music, old style.

The newly reformed Bluegrass Quartet, Ragged Mountain Ramblers will be performing in Crested Butte this weekend. The Ramblers got their start with with weekly gigs in the Butte back in the 90's. Founded by Bruce Hayes and Les Choy (Gypsy Jazz Social Club), the band has had numerous members through the years most notably Jeff Reynolds of KVNF, and Michael Travis of the String Cheese Incident. Ow, I just dropped that name on my foot! We had a sell out show at the Crested Butte Center for the Arts in 2000 and released a live CD to document the event. In recent years the band has included Gene Libea of the Nashville Bluegrass Band, and Kieth Reed of Open Road. The current lineup features members of Grass It Up from Colorado Springs, winners of the Indy's best band for 2011 award. Greetings from Howard, Colorado...At last, following a prolonged dry spell, here comes the rain. Bobby would be proud. Some great outdoor shows last month and all good weather, highlights included a set at Fibark, and a song with Todd Sheaffer (see pic), a rollicking 4th of July show with New World Love and a poke in the eye with a blunt stick...but seriously, lately I've been a landscraper. Greetings from Howard, Colorado...

It's Winter, now it's Summer, now it's Winter again. I can't keep up, but I know we broke all records for cancellations due to weather earlier this month. Lo siento to folks who came out to Front Range BBQ for the initial canceled gig and then the canceled rescheduled gig. You just can't heat a party tent when it's below 0. It'll be in the 20s next week, I think we'll go for it. Arnie had a great run of benefit shows. We couldn't make our set due to severe weather but hope to throw a benefit of our own for Arnie soon.
